Messaging

Rhythm asks one question a day, by text. This page describes exactly what that means, how you agree to it, and how to make it stop. It is written plainly because the answer should be plain.

How you opt in

There is no way to receive a message from Rhythm without asking for it. The sequence is:

There are two ways, and both start with you.

By text

Someone shares a link, or you tap one on the site. It opens your own messages app with the word RHYTHM already typed, addressed to Rhythm's number.

You send it. Sending that message from your own phone is the consent - nothing is sent to you before it.

Rhythm replies confirming you are in, and says the frequency, that rates may apply, and how to get help or stop. Then it asks your age.

Under 18, it ends there and nothing is kept.

On the website

You create an account at rhythmlives.com and sign in.

Signed in, you type your own mobile number into the form on your Thread page. Beneath that form it says, word for word: "By adding your number you agree to receive one message a day from Rhythm, plus a verification code now. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end or HELP for help."

Rhythm texts you a six-digit code. You reply with the code from that same phone. Nothing else is sent until you do — so a mistyped number receives one message and never hears from us again.

From then on: one question each morning.

Either way, nobody else can add your number. Numbers are never bought, uploaded, imported from contacts, or collected from anywhere but that form.

What we send

One message a day, in the morning, in your own timezone. A verification code when you link a number. Nothing else. No marketing, no promotions, no offers, no reminders to come back.

Your Rhythm code is 481920. It expires in 15 minutes.

What did you actually do last Tuesday evening? Not what you meant to do.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message. It works instantly, from any point in the conversation, and we send nothing afterwards — not even a goodbye. Reply START if you ever want it back.

Reply HELP at any time for a description and a link to this page. Reply PAUSE for a week off without ending anything.

You can also unlink your number, or delete your account entirely, from inside the site without asking anyone.

Costs

Rhythm does not charge for messages. Your carrier's standard message and data rates apply. Message frequency is one per day.

Your answers

What you reply is private. It is never shown to another person, never quoted back to you, never posted anywhere, and never sold. It is used to understand who you might genuinely get on with, and for nothing else. See Privacy.
